Faith Formation (PreK4 – 8th Grade)
Helping Children Grow as Disciples of Jesus
Faith Formation at Sheboygan North Catholic Parishes is centered on helping children know, love, and follow Jesus in their daily lives. Through weekly classes and shared experiences, children encounter the beauty of the Catholic faith in a way that is prayerful, engaging, and rooted in community.
Weekly Classes
• Wednesdays | 5:30 – 6:45 PM
• St. Dominic campus, 2133 North 22nd Street, in the Faith Formation building (old school building).
Children in PreK4 through 8th grade gather in grade-level classrooms for:
- Scripture, prayer, and hands-on activities
- Weekly practice in virtue and discipleship
- A safe and welcoming space where every child is known and loved
- Parents are invited to attend our opening Mass and class on September 17.
Community Days: Praise • Play • Serve
Throughout weekly formation, we host Community Days where children:
- Praise God through prayer and music
- Play joyfully with peers
- Serve others through acts of kindness and love

Faith Formation for 4- and 5-Year-Olds
Our youngest learners begin their faith journey in a fun, engaging environment designed to introduce them to God’s love.
Children will:
- Hear exciting Bible stories
- Create fun and meaningful crafts
- Watch age-appropriate religious videos
- Act out Bible stories and play related games
- Celebrate the seasons and feasts of the Church year through crafts, games, and parties
Sacramental Preparation (Grades 1–2)
Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist (First Communion) is a two-year process , typically beginning in first grade .
Year One (Grade 1): Children are introduced to:
- God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
- The importance of loving God and one another
- The Church liturgical seasons
- Different ways to pray
Year Two (Grade 2): Students focus specifically on:
- Understanding the Sacrament of Reconciliation
- Preparing to receive the Eucharist
- Learning about the Mass and the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist
Faith Formation for Grades 3–6
Children continue building a strong foundation in Catholic teachings, Scripture, sacraments, prayer, and moral development. Each year also emphasizes a special theme:
- Grade 3: The Creed – What we believe as Catholics
- Grade 4: The Ten Commandments – Living as God calls us
- Grade 5: The Sacraments – Encounters with God’s grace
- Grade 6: The Old Testament – God’s covenant story with His people
Faith Formation for Middle School (Grades 7–8)
Grade 7: Building Catholic Identity & Foundations of Faith Students explore:
- Their identity as beloved children of God
- Salvation history and God's saving plan
- Core Catholic beliefs and Church teachings
- The role of grace, sacraments, and community in their lives
Grade 8: Forming a Catholic Conscience & Living Our Faith Students dive deeper into:
- Moral decision-making rooted in Church teaching
- Developing a well-formed Catholic conscience
- Understanding sin, grace, and forgiveness
- Applying the Beatitudes, Ten Commandments, and Catholic Social Teaching to real-life situations
